Firefox and Gallery Movie Clips...

If you are using the Firefox browser, you may discover that you are unable to play certain video files from the gallery, even though you may have already installed the Windows Media Player plug-in (Windows-only link).
To correct this issue, you will have to edit a file as described here.
Basically, you will have to:
- install the plug-in
- edit the file "pluginreg.dat" found in the "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox" directory (separate user accounts on Windows require separate updates to this file)
- to edit this file, press the Windows key + R (to bring up the "Run" dialoge box)
- enter the following (or copy and paste the following) into the entry field:
- wordpad "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\pluginreg.dat"
- search for the text "Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library|$"
- edit the line directly below that from "9" to "10" (without the double-quotes)
- insert the line after the 8th ("8|video/x-ms-wvx|Media Files|wvx,*|$") entry with:
- 9|video/x-msvideo|Media Files|avi,*|$
- save the file
- restart Firefox
