Happenings
Submitted by pk0h on Wed, 23/06/2010 - 13:22Have not been blogging for more than a year! Too many things happened along the way.
Yes, its been almost six months since Daniel and Mindy's wedding. Have you seen the photos yet? Ask Daniel :)
And then, there was Chinese New Year in February 2010. Daniel and Mindy gave us a surprise by coming home for a traditional CNY visit(s) .... close relatives included; both in Sing and KL. Well done newly weds!
April and May were trying months for us. Grandma Grace had to have a pacemaker implant after several heart-related episodes. Ouch...grandpa Peter had severe lumbar back pains. Thank God everything is back to normal now.
We are planning to visit Daniel and Mindy for a month from mid-Nov to mid Dec.
That's all for now.
Ah..ah... hope you can view a few uploaded photos.
Getaway nearer to Home
Submitted by pk0h on Sat, 01/03/2008 - 23:02What to do with 2007 leave days to clear? Find somewhere not too expensive where one can relax for a few days ... getaway nearer home. We found COSTA SANDS at Loyang Besar out there in Pasir Ris, Singapore of course! 19-22 Feb 2008. An inexpensive chalet not too far from the Pasir Ris Beach. Managed to relax via beach walks, swimming and cycling. Mum and Dad.

Christmas holidays
Submitted by pk0h on Fri, 28/12/2007 - 01:05Phew, the Christmas "crush", "rush", "pressure", joy, peace, happiness etc has happened. 10 days ago, we were all doing the "countdown". Christmas has come and goining ... if you subscribe to the 12 days of Christmas stuff. Good to have Daniel home with us this Christmas. We are all delighted and happy to hear his updates on life "down under". 26 and 27 Dec were special "off" days for me. Had good time catching up with family and friends. But had to conduct a wedding ceremony in the evening. Ooops its now 1.05am Sing time... better get to sleep. Starting work in the morning.
Yipee! created my own blog
Submitted by gk0h on Fri, 24/08/2007 - 23:30At last I managed to create gk0h's blog. (Dad writing). Now I know why. The kiloworks request for new password doesn't tell you your mistake if you had entered both username and email address. Also, email instructions rather confusing. Shud one use the first or second url? The first goes back to square one! Only the one that says xxxresetxxx does the job.
I've got into my blog?
Submitted by pk0h on Fri, 24/08/2007 - 23:07I'm amazed I got here. Dunno how. When trying to follow your instructions, there were so many confusing instructions ... wrong usesrid, wrong password, and drupal? (see my emails to Daniel). Mum wasn't so fortunate ... I tried to help her but it din't get thru ... dunno what happened? :)

Hello Kitty
Submitted by ml00ky on Mon, 09/07/2007 - 22:00The aircraft carrier, USS Kitty Hawk stopped by the Harbour City over the weekend. The media hype around it drove me to take a peek for myself this afternoon. Parked at the Naval Depot at Garden Island near Potts Point, these photos were taken from near Mrs. Macquarie's Chair. The ship was huge and could not be captured in its entirety on my camera. It was very impressive with all the jet planes and helicopters on board. Fortunately, I was able to see this 47-year old giant before it is to be decommissioned next year.
Hmm...I have this sudden urge to go watch "Top Gun"...

Submitted by ml00ky on Thu, 05/07/2007 - 21:12I have been a fan of the Japanese art of paper-folding, or Origami ever since I could remember. There's just something about the concept of turning a simple piece of paper into an art form that intrigues me. It is a form of relaxation that I enjoy as well to escape from work's pressure from time to time. Thanks to my Dear who got me a book by Rick Beech entitled "The Origami Handbook", I tried my hands on one of the more complex design yesterday. It is called a five intersecting tetrahedra. I particularly liked the fact that its construction involved units interlocking with one another and did not require any adhesive. It took me about an hour to complete but the self-satisfaction upon completion was totally worth my time spent.

Movie Night
Submitted by ml00ky on Fri, 10/11/2006 - 06:24Who would've thought that with my non-existent energy level, I could stay up until 11.30pm watching "The Departed" after spending the whole day playing paintball? Well, after hearing all of the rave reviews it was receiving and having loved the movie "Infernal Affairs", I decided it was about time.
Purple Spots
Submitted by ml00ky on Sat, 04/11/2006 - 21:50I have bruises all over my arms and torso after my first ever Paintball Skirmish on Saturday. Daniel had bought ten tickets for the event over half a year ago and we only decided to go at the last minute, a day before the tickets were to expire. Thankfully we managed to have 9 people from Wollongong and Sydney to join us.
And then, there was a blog...
Submitted by ml00ky on Tue, 06/12/2005 - 18:05Here I am blogging for the first time, after all the craze about blogging has started to fade out. Anyway, I intend put tidbits of my life here regularly. Hope you will enjoy my two cents for the days to come...
